#13 – Love the Earth

I recently visited a state park where one of the trails, the first I’ve ever come across in fact, was devoted to poems to be experienced along its circuitous path. There were eight places along the way that were marked, save for one, and a brochure I picked up at the park campground with the poems to read at each stop.

What a delightful discovery!

The more time I spend in the little box I call my home, the more I feel myself outgrowing its safe walls – as the draw of water, mountain, plains, and forest calls me to come be where I may not actually be safe, but where I certainly belong.

Of course we can all create our own trail of poems simply by taking our favorite written verses to the great outdoors, reciting to the trees and birds and anything else that’s around whatever it may be that moves our spirit.

I invite you to do this today.
