Over the years I’ve completed a few educational pursuits in Earthly related topics like organic agriculture and “master” naturalist/gardener, partly because of my curiosity and love for all the beautiful and mysterious aspects of our world and partly because of the duty I feel to lessen my footprint during my time here.
I LOVE this planet…and I’m amazed about what’s happened and happening to it each day I live to witness the changes around me, be that in the natural or human constructed spaces I move through. I’d be lying if I didn’t also say I’m overwhelmed with the sheer magnitude of all that’s unfolding, at speeds which seem unfathomable (and which were, not so long ago) – I often ask my clients, in all seriousness, “What are we all racing toward anyway, given that our time here is limited?”, as it seems that on my more concerned days that it’s just toward a quicker demise.
The trip I’ve been on for the last 6 days has created the tiniest bit of space in my saddled with never-ending responsibilities brain (note to self: you can definitely create space in your brain WITHOUT leaving home 😝) and allowed for me to observe the beautiful parts of the country that pictures just don’t do justice to…including my fungus pic above!
As I move through the remaining days of the travels I’m on, I think of you and wonder how it is you’ve been lovin’ on the Earth as of late. Are you staying grounded, feeling the sweet grass or sand, packed dirt or wet moss of your local environ under your feet? Perhaps you’re floating in the waters around you or hangin’ out in some sturdy tree that you feel a kinship with. Is it time for you to make some space to be in your favorite worldly place? Where is that place? Have you found it yet?
