As a singular species, we are unique in the way all other singular species are; in that as much as we know, there is no other species like us. That we share being unique along with all the other different species in the world and yet with some similarities makes what is unknown to us about every other living, inanimate or not, a seemingly never-ending source of wonder.
So many things will remain unknown for all of us throughout our lives – though I have observed what I can only describe as different lives within just the one I’m experiencing right now (dreaming life woot!)….in what I imagine is for some part or parts of me to reconcile the fact that I will only ever know what I know.
I have felt many feelings regarding the unknown, but loving the unknown has been a challenge, as my human mind has proven to me time and time again that knowing, whatever it is, nurtures feeling safe….and who naturally doesn’t want to feel safe?
Today’s way to love the unknown is inspired by the Australian artist Gareth Knight. You’re invited to get to know him and his work (via the link in the photo caption) or via his Insta. If you’re already familiar with Knight’s work then seek out a different artist in whatever way you can make time for today and let yourself be open to loving the unknown thoughts and resulting actions that come from this other us….that create a sense of wonder that moves and questions our minds and experiences.
