These days there seem to be many broken aspects of life wherever we look. I have never liked the idea of being broken, when things break, or having to address anything that’s not in order…I don’t think I’m alone in this stance either!
And still, love remains. Whether broken or whole, everything is part of us and we can choose to cast aside that which doesn’t meet our expectations or that’s pleasing to the eye or, we can love whatever it is that comes to us.
I was reminded recently about the art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold, and I’ve been considering all the other broken parts of things in my life since then – or at least, what seem broken, and whether I’ve been applying love to them for mending or just wallowing around in the parts.
Where’s my gold for fixing?!? Well, for all the things that gold won’t work for it will be love that attends to everything else.
Is there something broken in your own life that you’ve been unable to repair? How could loving it and letting that be the starting point for a solution help start a process of healing for you? If there are many things then just start with one, maybe not the biggest one and ask yourself if by applying love to the scenario *is* there a way through, is it possible to love that which is not whole?
Everything benefits from your love.
