#15 – Love The Unknown

Sometime in the last year or two I started getting what felt like pretty comfortable with the unknown. Most of us have considered the question that if we could know our future would we want to and I’ve vacillated between yes and no until more recently.

While I can’t really know what’s ahead, I have determined that at some point before I got here that whatever made me me was already somewhere else before I got here, in some kind of energetic state. While in that state I imagined another experience for myself from conception to passing and then actualized the story to come and live out.

While I’m here I don’t have access to the rest of the story (and yes, it’s never ending) and that’s ok, I’m just grateful for the peace that’s finally come from determining that everything that’s unfolding is for me and from me …and whatever I do experience I can learn from, lean into for nurturance, and trust because I’ve already witnessed what I’m living.

Ok, maybe a stretch for some, but I’m not suggesting this is the same for everyone (even if I think it is), just that THIS is the way I’ve learned to love the unknown.

Today for instance, I was on a hike in a park that I haven’t gotten to know very well just yet (and has questionable trail markings) and I had thought I’d walk on a several mile loop that very quickly became a few different trails, also oddly designated (or not at all) and that would’ve led me quite far from whatever loop I’d first set out on.

While this example is one that can be easily remedied by referring to a mapping device (which I did), for a while I just walked and didn’t know where I was exactly and it was fine – sometimes just having a rough idea of my whereabouts is enough.

I’ll invite you to consider an aspect of the unknown right now, about your own life, that you may be finding it hard to love and just sit with it for a bit, see if you can love not knowing what it is about this part of your life even if for just a few minutes.

Perhaps you really do know about this part of your life, in some dusty corner of your heartmind. Maybe not. What if the more you sit with it, the more you glean about other unknown parts of your life that you DO love?
