It’s nowhere near pie day, but this draft has been sitting for quite some time and this morning is when it needs to be done so here we go.
While all things pie are fun, the day itself has another meaning for me. It’s the day when my partner of the last almost 10 years connected with me online. The message they sent was disarming, quite long, and compelling – enough to pull my curious mind right in to what turned into a month long exchange of over 50,000 words before we met in person. The connection was interesting, a bit unusual, and fun.
In the past few months another message came to me online from some other spirits out in the world I wasn’t familiar with, this time for a Sacred Pause retreat at the Kripalu Center, that he and another individual had organized and that was looking for participants, which was something that I also found compelling – so I immediately applied .
When I received the notice I’d been accepted, I was elated and excited, for not only would I get to learn about some new folks doing beautiful work in the world, I’d also finally get to visit a place I’d known about for many years but hadn’t gotten to in my travels yet.
And yes, while I definitely paused over the last few days from the work I’ve been doing over the last couple decades in the healing arts space, I also had fun connecting, caring and creating with a group of individuals as varied in their purpose as a pack of crayons – but like me, are all crayons, leaving our marks wherever we go, hopefully adding more color to the beauty of this precious planet we get to be on for however much longer.
What kind of fun, pause, connecting can you get into today? Can it be with others? Perhaps it just needs to be with yourself. Enjoy, for the day is underway!
